Our First Annual Report Is Now Available

Since 2023, Ius Stella has been working to make justice more accessible in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by providing legal assistance to people in detention, supporting incarcerated women and children, and building meaningful partnerships. Today, we are proud to share Ius Stella’s first Annual Report, reflecting on our journey from 2023 to 2025.

More than a collection of numbers, this report tells the story of why we chose to put people at the heart of justice.

Inside, you will discover:

  • our vision of justice as a driver of human and economic development;
  • the foundations of our approach, built around legal empowerment, social justice, and systemic change;
  • the key milestones and achievements of our first two years, from Kinshasa to Beni;
  • the launch of Nyota, our programme supporting children living in prison with their mothers;
  • our advocacy efforts to promote long-term reform of the Congolese justice system;
  • the partnerships, recognitions, and milestones that have shaped the growth of our organisation.

Throughout these pages, you will also meet the women, men, and children whose stories remind us that behind every case is a person, a family, and a future.

These first two years have not been without challenges. Yet every obstacle has reinforced our belief that justice becomes truly accessible when it is built alongside the communities it is meant to serve.

We also believe that trust is built through transparency. This report is our way of sharing with our partners, supporters, and wider community what we have accomplished since the creation of Ius Stella, while expressing our gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey.

We hope these pages will help you better understand not only what we do, but also the more just and humane society we are working to build—one person at a time.
